November 8, 2018 Meeting

It was decided that we would have executive reports, then  the awards from the Quilt Show.

For the CQA Guild challenge, Teresa reported that we can use any fabric, that it does not need to be the Kona.  Judy B will find fabric that will be used in the challenge.  Hopefully those that wish to be involved in the challenge will receive fabric at the January meeting.  The challenge quilts are due for the May meeting.

Bonnie H has resigned from being chair of the Comfort Quilt Committee.  Please email Teresa if you can take this over.  Cathy S is willing to help you get started.

Judy B reported that we have 91 members with 3 guests attending this evening.

Edith from Out Reach has asked Rotholme for a family we can give Quilts to at Christmas.  Chad from Meals on Wheels will be here at the December meeting to accept placemats. The placemats can be any size, eg. 10  X 15 or  12 X 16.  These can be any shape, rectangular or square and the placemats can be any fabric including Christmas fabric.  Thank you for your help in making placemats for the December meeting.

Kim from Program has set the January meeting to include 4 demos of different techniques.  Let Kim know if you are willing to do a 15 minute demo of a technique.  January 12 is a Jelly roll workshop with Kelly Richardson.  Cost is $25.00

Librarian Susan C would like suggestions for Library Books.  Email her your ideas or give her a list at the next meeting…

December 1 is a Quilt in day from 9 am to 9 pm.  Bring your own lunch and supper is provided.  Cost is $25.00.  Contact Kim if you would like to attend.

Our December meeting is a top secret Christmas Tea Party. We are collecting toiletries for My Sister’s Place for the December meeting.

Co-chairs of the Quilt Show Committee – Mary and Sharon R thanked everyone for the successful Quilt Show.  Everything went very well.  The Tea Room was beautifully decorated and well attended.  The Boutique was very successful and exceeded Mibsie’s goal.  All who helped set up and take down were appreciated.  There were 58 Bed Quilts, 41 Cuddle Quilts, 55 Wall hangings, 6 Miniature Quilts and 26 Other items displayed at the Quilt Show.  Thank you to all who submitted quilts for display. The Quilt Show Committee worked hard and even had some fun with the planning etc…   Altogether we made this happen!!
