Next Meeting: Thursday, February 11, 7PM

Guest Speaker: Rosemary Makhan

Originally from Nova Scotia, Rosemary was taught quilt making by her mother, and spent many years teaching Family Studies at the high school level. She rekindled her love of quilting when she made a baby quilt for her daughter and soon she was teaching her friends and then teaching night school courses. With her students, she formed the Halton Quilters’ Guild in 1977 and she won the CQA/ACC Teacher of the Year award in 1993. She has written books through That Patchwork Place Publishing and published patterns through her own label Quilts by Rosemary. She will be selling some of her patterns and books at the meeting so come prepared! She will be doing an applique workshop on Friday, March 12 of a block from her very popular Woodland Creatures pattern.
