Next meeting – May 10, 2012

The next meeting of the London Friendship Quilt Guild will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at St. George’s Presybterian Church.  Our speaker for the evening is Elaine Quehl.  We look forward to seeing her quilts and hearing about her work. This will also be our annual business meeting and with reports from the various Committees of the Guild.  Voting for new officers will also take place.

Vendor of the month is Sew Creative from Mount Brydges.

Please remember to bring:
* library books – all library books are due this month
* magazines to donate and money to purchase these (a bargain at 25c each!)
* cheque book for banquet or workshop signup
* show and tell
* name tag
* notion of the month: 5″ floral square in honour of Spring to be used for placemats later in the year.
* scrapbooking materials: someone is going to put a scrapbook together of photos of the guild and would love to have some materials to work with.  If you have any paper/stickers/etc leftover from your own scrapbooking that you are willing to donate, bring them to the meeting and give them to Evelyn H.
* door prizes for the banquet will be gratefully accepted.
* mug for tea – there will be snacks :-)!

Tickets will be available for the banquet in June which promises to be a very enjoyable evening.  It will be held at the historic train station in St. Thomas.   For those who would like to carpool, there will be a couple of meeting points in London.  Pauline Grondin will be the speaker on the topic, “History Through Quilting”.

Elaine Quehl will be teaching a machine quilting workshop on Saturday, May 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  There is one spot left in the workshop.  Click here to see if there is still space.

Our Quilt show Committee is busy planning the Quilt show for October.  Bookmarks and other promotional material has arrived. Please pick some up at the meeting and distribute anywhere quilters gather :-).
