The next meeting of the LFQG will be held at St. George’s Presbyterian Church on Thursday, April 12, 2012. Our guest speakers will be two of our own members, Maureen H. and Beth M.. The Program Committee hopes to present one or two of our own guild members to do a trunk show each year. We will get to know our members better and see what they have made in the past and are working on at present. The Committee hopes this will inspire us and give us new ideas for our own quilts.
There is no workshop planned for April. Elaine Quehl will be speaking in May and teaching a workshop on the Saturday on machine quilting. Signups will be available at the meeting for this workshop and there is information at the workshop table.
Vendor for this month is Country Patchworks from Woodstock, ON. Bring your piggy bank :-).
Please remember to bring:
* library books
* magazines to donate and money to purchase these (a bargain at 25c each!)
* cheque book to sign up for workshops
* show and tell
* name tag
* notion of the month: a non perishable food item to help replenish the food bank after Easter.
This is also the last opportunity to sign up for a bag making workshop with Mibsie B. on April 21st, 2012. Check out the signup table at the guild meeting to see samples and details.
Advance notice: The guild banquet will be held at the beautifully restored Train Station in St. Thomas on June 14, 2012. Tickets will be available at the April and May meeting and are $45.00.
Check the side bar of the blog and check out our advertisers as well as a large number of Quilt Shows happening this Spring. If anyone knows of other shows that are not on the list, email a link for their webpage and I’d be happy to post them on the list. This weekend is a Quilt Show in Shedden, ON, right in our own neighbourhood.
See you all Thursday!
