February 2013 meeting

At our February 14th meeting, most members wore red in celebration of Valentine’s day.

Our speaker was Nancy Trowbridge and she discussed the Underground Railway and how quilts and quilt blocks may have played a role in the slaves’ trek to freedom in Canada.

The Vendor of the month was Seven Sisters from Norwich. This is a fairly new quilt shop and well worth the trip to go and see it in person.

The vendor’s table was very popular both before the meeting and at the break.   There were draws for fat quarters and a door prize.
Show and tell is always inspiring—it is always fun to see what others have been up to in their sewing rooms.

Thanks to Gail for taking the photos and writing up the report of the February meeting as the weather prevented me from attending.
