Western Fair Quilt Display, September 6-15, 2013 There is now a call for quilts for a display (not a competition) at this year’s Western Fair, running from September 6-15th . It will be located in the Progress Building. We are looking for bed quilts of any size, and wallhangings not to exceed 60” square. They may be hand-quilted, quilted by a domestic sewing machine, or by mid- to long-arm quilting machines. The Fair is looking for a sampling range from each category.
They will accept 12-15 quilts with hanging sleeves for this display and will choose the quilts to be displayed out of those submitted to Cornerstone Quilts & More, which will accept quilts on their behalf from now until August 23rd. In other words, not all quilts submitted will be displayed as there is a space limitation for this year only. If you would like to participate in this year’s quilt display at the Western Fair, please drop off your quilts to Cornerstone Quilts & More, 1700 Hyde Park Road, London, before August 23rd. Insurance for theft/damage for your quilts will be your responsibility (check your insurance policy – you may be able to add a temporary rider during this event, if you do not already have a rider in place).
We are also looking for volunteers to white-glove during the Fair hours which are 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm Monday to Friday, and 11:00 am – 10:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Having a white-glove presence during Fair hours also helps protect the display and there is a security presence and lock-down after hours. You will be granted free admission and parking to the Fair on those days you are on-duty. Shift length is up to you, starting with a two-hour minimum.
