Blog Sampler Double Cross

This week’s block is named Double Cross.

Cutting Instructions:

Light  fabric:        cut 7  @ 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 inches. Cut 2 of these squares in half on the diagonal
Medium fabric:    cut 1  @ 3 7/8 x 3 7/8 inches. Cut this square in half on the diagonal
Dark fabric:         cut 5  @  2 3/8 x 2 3/8 inches

Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the 5 uncut light 2 3/8 inch squares. Pair these up, right sides together, with the 5 dark 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 inch squares.  Sew a 1/4 inch seam on either side of the drawn line. Cut these apart on the drawn line and press towards the dark.

Arrange  8 of the triangle squares as shown below and sew together.

Arrange the remaining 2 triangle squares with the light triangles as shown below. Sew together. Watch the orientation of the various units carefully.

Pair these finished triangle units with the 2 medium 3 7/8 inch triangles and sew together.

Arrange the finished units as shown below and sew together.

Go  here for the finishing instructions, keeping in mind that the large outer triangles are the dark fabric this time.
