Guild Challenge and AGM

What an amazing bunch of entries! We had 36 pieces entered (by the way, I counted only 35 photos, so if I am missing yours, please email me a photo so I can add it to the flickr page) and as I promised you can view them all here.

As review, each guild member was given a fat quarter of Laurel Burch’s Ocean’s Song fabric and asked to create something quilted with it. The membership voted for their favourite piece and boy, was it ever hard! There was so much to choose from, so much creativity out there! I am proud of all those that entered!

First Place: Jill B (Jill, by the way, has another piece showing at the Grand National at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery)

Second Place: Beth M

Third Place: Cynthia N

Congratulations ladies! What a great job!

We received thank you’s from the CQA for our donation of table toppers and other assorted items, as well as thanking us for our Silver Thimble donation that will go toward the TrendTex Challenge prizes.

The guild thanked Gail for her time and effort conducting a workshop on the traditional craft of Russian rug making.

The guild will be giving a donation to St. George’s Presbyterian Church as a thank you for the use of the Church for guild business.

The Reports were made by each of the executive members and will be available in the library.
