Quilters on Vacation: Cambridge & Kitchener, Ontario

This segment comes from yours truly, blog editor: Jill, Christine and I decided to spend a Sunday checking out McDougall Cottage in Cambridge and Joseph Schneider Haus in Kitchener. First stop was McDougall Cottage. Every year it is the home of the Wee Quilt Challenge and our own Jill entered 2 pieces in this year’s Plaidvertising challenge.

Then it was off to Joseph Schneider Haus, this year’s home to the Grand National. This was the only photo that I could get of my shy companions.

This year was a transitional year for the Grand National as they will be moving to a new location next year. To keep it simple they had an open call for fabric postcards, all were accepted and displayed. Jill and I both sent in postcards.

JSH also displayed the 2008 Quilt Block Challenge final quilt that will be auctioned. Jill submitted a block that was chosen for the final quilt, hers is the upper left corner block.

We finished our days outing with lunch at Williams in Woodstock. What a fun day!
