Heather has a son and daughter-in-law in the Canadian Air Force, so one of her passions is contributing as much as she can to the Quilts of Valour initiative. This initiative donates quilts to wounded Canadian soldiers. Heather donated her time and expertise to show us how to make a string quilt, the participants had to promise to donate these quilts to the initiative.
Some of us wanted to work together to make a quilt and others wanted to work on a solo project.

All day long we sewed blocks!
but in the end everyone donated blocks to make at least one group quilt,
made up of 48 blocks!
