Guest Speakers at the Feb. meeting of the London Friendship Quilt Guild were Ken and Virgie of the Wardsville Barn Quilt Trail. Ken presented the history of George Ward and Virgie outlined how the quilt and Barn quilt blocks came about when planning for the 200th anniversary of Wardsville, ON. Plans are underway to expand the Barn quilts along Longwoods Rd commemorating the history of the War of 1812, focusing on war from a woman’s point of view. First Nations history during this time will also be featured. Click here for a blog post done in 2010 during the Wardsville anniversary celebrations.
