Annual General Meeting – May 9, 2013

The London Friendship Guild held their annual general meeting on Thursday, May 9th, 2013 at St. George’s Church.  We were greeted at the door by Amalia, Cynthia and Kathy:

Charlene and Sharon were busy getting signups for workshops and the banquet:

Our vendor of the month was Marlene of Pastime Pieces from Blenheim, ON.  She has lots of nice fabrics and carries wool and other embroidery patterns and kits.  Member had the opportunity to shop to their heart’s content.

We had treats at the meeting this month (probably to entice us to come to the annual general meeting :-).  However, the tea was missing since the key for the library cupboard did not show up at the meeting.  We enjoyed the goodies without the tea almost as much!
Marlene shared a little about her shop:
One of our members, Lorna M did a short presentation of her quilting journey which was enjoyed by all:

This wallhanging shows the house where Lorna grew up.  She even told us that she tap danced on the window sills 🙂

We had a major interruption in our meeting.  This strange character ran in and wanted to know what happened to her friend!!!  Hmm….no idea!  Our President assured her that we would help her next month at our guild banquet to solve the mystery.  She was so grateful, she even gave Pauline a huge hug.

The June banquet promises to be a great time as we deal with this character (and her cohorts)!!  Tickets are available until the end of May by calling Micki.  Don’t miss this great opportunity for a lovely meal, social time and solving this mystery!!  There will also be great prizes!

The newly elected executive for the 2013/2014 guild year (Edith W, outreach; Micki A, President; Kathy V, treasurer; Chris A, secretary; Irene W, membership; Beve J, newsletter; Maureen H, blog editor; Lorna M, Program and Patricia B, library):
