After seeing Jackie’s quilts with all the 3D embellishments, on the Thursday evening, we were able to learn some of her techniques at the workshop on Friday. She showed us how to make various flowers. We learned about zipper flowers, pinwheels, twist and turn flowers and double and triple fold flowers and ribbon flowers. We also made twirlies (spiral stems) and leaves. We were all amazed what Jackie could make using everyday household items like buttons, ribbons, zippers, toothpicks, puzzle pieces and empty spools. We actually made 6 – 8 different flowers and were shown how to make at least 12 more. It was a fun workshop that provided us with lots of ideas.
