On Saturday Nov 9th twenty quilters (guild members and friends) enjoyed a wonderful workshop taught by Anita Zobens. The class was called “Applique Buffet”.
In the morning we learned techniques for Invisible Machine Applique and Fusible Applique. We learned about using wash-away templates, glue sticks and invisible thread.
In the afternoon we experimented with threads of different weights and fibers while sewing decorative stitches. It was very interesting to see how a decorative stitch could look completely different depending upon the thread that was used. It was also a great way to become more familiar with your own machine and the decorative stitches that you hardly ever use.
