The January meeting of the London Friendship Quilters’ Guild was held January 9th. Our guest speaker was Jill Buckley. Jill shared her evolution as a quilter with us. Jill had worked in sewing factories and then started her own business sewing wedding dresses, costumes and other garments. Jill made her first quilt after she retired from her sewing business. She then joined the LFQG and has been making innovative and artistic quilts ever since. Jill loves to be challenged and has participated in and won many prizes competing in “Quilt Challenges”. She is now “Artist in Residence” for CQA and provides a new quilt pattern in every issue of the CQA newsletter.

Jill’s Quilt-“In Stitches”
Jill has generously made a free give away PDF pattern for “In Stitches”. Find it here.
(I found that the PDF was very slow to download, but if I clicked on the “print” icon (upper left), the pattern opened and I could then print it.-Maureen) To see the rest of Jill’s Quilts click here.
Our Vendor for the evening was Joyce from Joyce’s Sewing Shop.
Joyce donated a lovely quilter’s tote as a raffle prize at the guild meeting.
Krysten McCoy from Melon Patch Quilts donated a voucher for machine quilting as a raffle prize at the guild meeting.
Jacqui VMS from the Program Committee told us about a new upcoming Guild Challenge. It is called “A Road Runs Through It”. Stay tuned for further details from Jacqui.
