One of Susan Clark’s Curved Flying Geese Quilts |
On Saturday, Nov 15th, 2014 an enthusiastic group of LFQG members joined Susan Clark to learn about creating Curved Flying Geese units to enhance their quilts.

Some of the participants started by making a background for their quilt by including “orphan blocks” along with neutral fabrics. Other members used a solid background.

Then it was on to designing the curves on paper and then learning or remembering how to do paper piecing.
Lynda paper piecing her flying geese |
The paper piecing continued until the desired strip of flying geese were made.

The last step was inserting the curved strip of flying geese into the background fabric.

It was an enjoyable day and a wonderful workshop with a great teacher. It was inspiring to learn a new technique that will be a fun addition to our quilting skills.
