Sew-In Days
The following is report of the Sew-In days by Cathy S. held at St George’s Church on Nov 28 & 29th
Last Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28th and 29th, the guild hosted two sew-in days. Some of us participated in both days. It was like going to a retreat, except we got to go home to our own comfy beds at the end of each day. There were twelve participating on Friday, and 18 on Saturday. On both days there was lots of fun, conversation and laughter to go along with the sound of sewing machine motors. And on occasion, everyone was so involved in what they were doing that the only sound to be heard was the sewing machine motors reving. Maureen wasn’t able to be there, so there aren’t as many photos as usual. Here’s a selection of what a few of the participants were working on:
Tiny C. worked on quilting her snow people piece.
Gail and Megan G. were working with a panel of Audrey Hepburn pictures
Mibsie B. worked on, and finished a couple of projects…… some blocks for a Quilt of Valour, and another quilt for the Children’s Aid.
Kathy V. worked on her paper piecing skills for the Row of the Month quilt.
Debbie M. finished a quilt, as did Cathy S.
Another member, seen hiding her identity behind her quilt, finished her Spinning Four Patch
Lorna worked on a wall hanging which she is calling “From One Old Bird to Another”
