Blog Sampler Road to Oklahoma

This week’s block is a quite well known one, Road to Oklahoma.

Cutting instructions:
Light fabric:   cut 6  @ 2 x 2 inches square
                       cut 2  @ 2 3/8 x 2 3/8  inches square
Dark fabric:    cut 6  @ 2 x 2 inches square
                        cut 2  @ 2 3/8 X 2 3/8 inches square

Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the light 2 3/8 inch squares. Pair these, right sides together, with the dark 2 3/8 inch squares. Sew a 1/4 inch seam on either side of the drawn line. Cut apart on the drawn line and press to the dark.

Lay out four of the light 2 inch squares and four of the dark 2 inch squares, as shown below, to make two four patch units.

Lay out the two remaining light and dark 2 inch squares, along with the triangles squares already made, as shown below, and sew together.

Lay out your four patches and your triangle square units as shown below, and sew together.

Go here for the finishing instructions. The outer triangles on this one are the darks.
