January Meeting Report

Teresa let us know that CQA is looking for candidates for their executive if you are interested…

Kim reminded us about the Jelly Roll Rug workshop that happened on Saturday Jan. 12. February 2 will be a Sew In Day to help with OutReach quilts. Being your lunch if you are staying all day from 9 am to 4 pm. There is another Sew In Day on March 2 to help with the OutReach quilts. Edith will have kits etc for us to sew up.
The February meeting is a Rummage Sale. You bring things to sell and the money goes to the OutReach program.
At the March meeting our speaker is Valerie Wilson. On March 15 Valerie is doing a workshop called People in Nature from 9 – 4. You will need a photo of a person in nature but not with faces.

It is early but the April speaker is Mary Elizabeth Kinch and she will be having a workshop on April 12 from 9 – 4. The workshop is called Go With the Flow and registration will start in February.

Edith reported that we gave 145 placemats to Meals on Wheels. We have 47 place mats all ready for Christmas 2019. 13 quilts and 33 pillowcases were given to Rotholme.

Susan told us about some new books in the library. “Bed Runners” “All in One Quilters Reference” and “Quilts from Textured Solids”.

Teresa shared that she has the fabric for the CQA Guild Challenge and handed out a fat quarter and instructions to those that were interested.

The January meeting consisted of 3 demonstrations. Kim demonstrated how to chain piece squares together so you have perfect corners. Susan C. demonstrated her nifty way of paper piecing. And Pat demonstrated a few ways to paint on fabric. Thank you for sharing your great ideas.
