April Meeting

Teresa welcomed our vendor for the evening  – Tammy from The Quilt Kitchen from Exeter and our guest speaker – Mary Elizabeth Kinch.

The Quilt Challenge is due at the May meeting.  If you were in attendance you received a blue bag so you can put your challenge quilt in and be anonymous when you bring the quilt in May.  If you were not in attendance please bring your challenge quilt in a non-transparent bag.  Judy B and Barb A will be the judges for the Quilt Challenge.

We are going to have elections at the May meeting.  Currently looking for a Secretary and a Treasurer
The London Modern Guild has invited us to their Trunk Show 10 quilts  on May 10 at 7 pm at the Boyle Community Center in London… cost is $15.00

Judy reported that we are at 95 members.  Kim spoke about the workshop happening the next day and she is looking for ideas for the year end banquet in June.  CQA is at the same time…

Susan reported that there is a new  book – Quilters Pre cuts and  will be ordering Children’s Quilting – 14 projects.
Edith related that Penny gave 2 quilts to CAS and she brought 10 quilts and 9 pillowslips to Rotholme House.  Barb B brought in 2 quilts to donate.  Edith has lots of quilt tops at home.  She is hoping to have an Out Reach sew in day over the summer.

Sharon T has some leftover labels from the quilt show if you are interested.

Mary Elizabeth Kinch shared her trunk show with us.  When she was younger she worked at Black Creek Pioneer Village and this is where she learned to quilt and her love of antique quilts began. Mary Elizabeth studied with quilt makers and textile artists.
